16-Page Seaside Workshop

After spending some time along the sea in Los Angeles last month, I was inspired to create this workshop for beach & tropical vacation photos. I used the beautiful Close To My Heart (CTMH) Seaside paper collection, one-half pack of Seaside Picture My Life (PML) cards, Boardwalk Washi tape pack, Kraft & Colonial White cardstock, mini staples, and a little Coral Shimmer trim and Black Arrow washi tape.

The PML cards can be used as is in pocket scrapbooking or as accents like I have in this workshop. The cards can be trimmed down like the three fish above and then re-punched with the CTMH corner rounder which matches the radius of our PML cards. The cards can be trimmed with micro-tipped scissors and then raised with 3-D foam tape to give it shape and dimension. The thin blue & green washi on the right and the "That was amazing" tag are from the Boardwalk Washi Tape Pack.

The "Beach Rules" large 4" x 6" card above was trimmed, separated, sponged with Desert Sand ink, then popped with foam tape. Some of the smaller 3" x 4" cards are used as photo mats. The top right corner was turned down and fastened with a mini staple. The small photo "tags" are cut from the "Zip Strip" - a half-inch strip of fun included on each sheet of CTMH patterned paper.

The Black Arrow and Boardwalk washi tape provided the borders on this layout. In addition to the "Let's go to the beach" title, the surfboard was also trimmed from a large card to be used as a journaling block. The banner on the surfboard was also trimmed separately then edged with ink and popped for more interest.

Extra patterned paper can also be cut then corner rounded for added color. The journaling block was trimmed, rounded on only two corners, then matted (to fit on the straight cut block).

I love those tiny staples used on "the perfect day" trimmed title. Seven rows of the Boardwalk washi tape were adhered to on the right page to create the look of patterned paper.

The Coral Shimmer Trim adds some bling to the title.

A 3" x 4" card was trimmed for the title. Also, two 4" x 6" cards (crab & tide pool scene) were trimmed to 3" x 4" accents. The "fence" trim is another "Zip Strip".

The ship, journaling block, and "Today was great" accents are all from trimmed PML cards.

There are a total of 44 photo blocks in this workshop; 33 are 4" x 6" and the rest are 3 1/2" x 5" or smaller. This workshop is priced at $40 and includes everything seen here except for the Desert Sand ink & sponge for edging, mini staples, and corner rounder.
